Five decades of collaboration, leadership and shared progress

2026 marks 50 years since CAUDIT held its first meeting. At the heart of CAUDIT’s impact and longevity is a community defined by trust, generosity, and a willingness to share. For five decades, Members have come together to contribute their expertise, learn from one another, and collectively strengthen the sector. This commitment to collaboration, embedded in the network and sustained by its people, is CAUDIT’s unique strength and the foundation for everything that has been achieved over the last five decades.

Delivering tangible outcomes for the sector

Some of the most tangible outcomes of this collaboration include the Higher Education Reference Models (HERM), the Australasian Higher Education Cybersecurity Service (AHECS), the Microsoft Agreement, sector-wide leadership uplift through the CAUDIT Managers Program and Leadership Institute, the Australian Access Federation (AAF), THETA Conference, EDUROAM, and MortarCAPS Data Standard. These demonstrate the impact that can be achieved when the sector works together with shared purpose.

From the Archives: The evolution of CAUDIT

CAUDIT officially commenced on 5 May 1976, shaped by a collective desire to collaborate in an emerging and rapidly evolving field.

Nurturing a trusted community of colleagues

While many powerful initiatives have emerged from collaboration across the CAUDIT network, it is the less tangible aspects that lay the foundations for CAUDIT’s success. The support, camaraderie, and sense of community fostered across the network have created a trusted environment where Members can share openly, learn from one another, and tackle complex challenges together.

Celebrate in person at one of our upcoming events

CAUDIT acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands where we live, learn and work. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of all First Nations people.
