Infrastructure and Networks Community

Welcome to the Infrastructure and Networks Community of Practice.  The Infrastructure and Networks Community supporters the identification and development of strategies, frameworks, tools, and communication mechanisms that support effective and sustainable infrastructure and network practices across higher education and research institutions in Australia and New Zealand, Fiji and Papua New Guinea.

The CAUDIT Infrastructure and Networks Community of Practice (CoP) serves as both a strategic and operational forum. Engagement through the CoP focuses on emerging trends, risks, threats, impacts, controls, and good practices related to digital and physical infrastructure and network services that underpin teaching, learning, research, and institutional operations. The CoP operates as a collaborative community, with two distinctive focus areas 'Networks' and 'Infrastructure', providing opportunities for member institutions to formally and informally share experiences, knowledge, and capabilities, and to identify opportunities, inform sector-wide discussions, and make recommendations that drive continuous improvement and adoption of good practice.

Some topics explored within this community include, networks, cloud infrastructure, infrastructure & Platforms, data centre/storage systems and the modern workplace (voice/Telecommunication - AV – Desktop) plus much more. Acknowledging the different characteristics in the two focus areas, the scope of the community will be reviewed over the coming 12 months and depending on how they develop, may become separate stand alone communities.

Membership to the Infrastructure and Networks Community is open to practitioners and specialists of all levels from CAUDIT Member organisations and partners.
