Be Prepared:

Application to the CAUDIT Leadership Institute does not guarantee your placement in the program, and with limited places it is important to ensure that you position yourself with the best chance of success.  Before is the information you will need to upload during your application.

When completing the online application form you will be asked to provide general and contact information for yourself and you will be asked to upload files and provide detailed  perspectives about you, your interest in the program and previous leadership activity. This includes:

  • Endorsement to attend: You will be asked to upload a copy (pdf) of the confirmation/endorsement from your CIO/Director/Librarian. This can be a a copy of an email or other internal approval document.  Each institution will typically only receive placement and as such you want to ensure you put forward a strong case to your CIO/University librarian to support your application.  You will be competing against others from your organisation so it is important to start your professional development discussions with your CIO/librarian well ahead of time.
  • Your photo. Smile! You will need to upload a photo of yourself (head shot) in jpeg format. This is required to assist the faculty and your peers in the program to identify you during the week.
  • Reasons for attending. Here you will be asked to describe what (if any) key elements of the CLI you are keen to explore (eg faculty, peers, program content etc) or what you hope to learn, what qualities you would like to develop or what your longer term aspirations for your work/career are. Your reasons may be what you have discussed with your CIO/librarian.  Please note that this information assists the faculty in mentoring you through the week and is not shared with your peers in the program..
  • A brief bio You will be asked to provide a bio of you and your current role. Max 150 words written in third person context. This will be shared with your peers in the program to help build your sector network.

Ready to apply?

Visit this page to submit your application!

After you submit your application:

You will be notified about the status of your application within two weeks of the closing date.  Where an institution has received multiple applications, we will seek the priority placement order from your CIO/University librarian.

Application to the CLI is competitive and where there are multiple applications from the same organisation, we will liaise with your CIO and/or Librarian for priority placement order. A wait-list will be kept for those who do not secure a placement in the initial round.

You might like to bookmark the dates of the upcoming program in your calendar (17 - 21 August 2026).

You will be notified of your successful placement via email and you will also receive an invoice for your participation and links to all relevant resource material including the Belbin profiling.  Team profiling is an important component of the CAUDIT Leadership Institute program - it involves input from you and your respondents and you need to allow everyone adequate time to complete it, so please don’t leave it until the last minute to get it started.
