Strategic Planning and Improvement Team in the Library - THETA 2025

Project Manager, UQ Library, The University of Queensland

Presentation Summary

UQ’s Library’s Strategy, Planning and Improvement (SPI) Team was established to advise on strategy development using evidence-based practice and data-driven insights, to establish a service portfolio management approach to library services and to provide project management, business analysis and UX advice for the Library.

Google Analytics, PowerBI, and Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN) are tools which have been used to gather data insights which help to streamline operations and expand access to institutional knowledge.  The team also supported the introduction of a 24/7 Library Chatbot which provides Tier 0 responses to clients.

We will share what we’ve achieved since our inception in 2021 and what we’ve learned along the way as well as how we work collaboratively with teams across the library to leverage these technologies and create new ways of working.
